Testimony #8

Taste Great-Less Filling

 

So that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15)

Is there something in your Life that you know God is asking you to let go of an addiction in your Life or maybe a relationship that isn't healthy for you? A Christian's defeat on the spiritual battlefield lies largely in his or her ignorance of the facts. In Jesus Christ there is the power to no longer be under sins control and to live in victory. Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin...(Romans 6:6)

Has God been asking you to make a commitment that you just haven't gotten around to yet, sometimes we don't fully understand why, but know this; God is out for your own good. He desires to give you the best. Sometimes what was painted in our thoughts as good and eventually became bad for some of us, and gradually got a little on the ugly side?

How many of you remember the slogan "Taste Great Less Filling! With Ben Davidson with the signature handle bar mustache. There was a whole series of Miller Lite commercials from 1975-1991. There were more Raiders in those of any other team. Many of us took it to heart for years and had a blast for year's one cold beer after another as we cried out "RAIDERS! As we reflect on life, many in the Raider Nation can testify of the loves one's we have lost because of alcoholisms, from the players that have played for the Silver and Black to our family and friends that have rooted for the team over the years, it's devastating when a lives are cut short due to the choices that we make? Who's at fault! The team... The Beer Company's... The world?  We should blame no one but ourselves for being ignorant of God's word. The Bible says much of the dangers than to the benefits of wine. God's word has never said we can't drink? But it doesn't take "Rocket scientist! To see that overindulgence will get you trouble with the Law of the land! And destroy your body within due time and ruin your relationships with love ones. God's word has always been balanced with all scripture in regards to all things in this world; we can go back and forth with this topic and never come to a conclusion of what's right and wrong with this message... the best testimony can be had in your own circle of influence? Look around, "Yes! Every one of us is missing a love one due to the choices they made; some of us are fortunate to be alive today? For the Raiders in Christ, has God been asking you to make a commitment to His excellance? It is right for a Christian not to drink wine if it causes his brother to stumble (Romans 14:21) Ask Him to show you what adjustments to make in your life as we choose to be obedient in every area of your lives we will experience God's peace and live the abundant life He's promised... Raider Nation, if you do choose to have a few cold one's? Be cool don't drive if you've been drinking get a designated driver? Keep in mind your body can only handle so much! And your better half can only put up with so much?
